After the Whistle
Growing up around male athletes provided me with first-hand exposure to the impact sports have on men’s mental health. From shaking self-confidence to creating life-long memories, participating in athletic events provides a wide range of emotions and experiences.
Often times, young men and boys are left feeling alone in their experiences because of the lack of conversations surrounding the topic of mental health. Society must break this stigma and emphasize to young men that they are not alone.
After the Whistle is a collection of original photography I captured throughout my years as a sports photographer. I chose to pair these images with first-hand testimonials from athletes both professional and close to my heart.

Optimism
The current climate of the world has brought uncertainty, conflict, and strife, but through these moments of darkness, we must look for the light. Optimism is seeing the joy in the little things around us and smiling at the happiness which exists in the small moments of our lives. We must challenge ourselves to seek out these glimmers of hope and capture them to remind others of their presence; even a fleeting moment can provide someone else with what they need to make it through the day. Optimism means making ourselves and others smile with our work and looking to the future with a hopeful eye.
